Casse-croûte

A CULTURAL AND CULINARY EVENT

AN INVITATION TO CHEFS FROM AROUND THE WORLD

BUILT AROUND A PROGRAMME OF ARTS AND MUSIC

C

asse-croûte is a hybrid festival celebrating food, wine, culture, nature and the environment. Taking place in the restaurants, bars, public halls, clubs, gardens and streets of Chamonix, Casse-croûte offers original formats featuring guests from the local area and further afield. Loyal to its home region, the festival was imagined and developed through a participative approach involving Chamonix town council and local stakeholders.

T

he first edition of the Casse-croûte festival took place from 28 October to 1 November in Chamonix.

Held against a backdrop of mountains and glaciers – the first witnesses to and victims of climate change – the festival explored the Mont Blanc Valley, inviting over 1,200 people to participate in five days of food, art and thought, convivial and curious, developed in collaboration with local residents, partners and authorities.
